Fishing :: Perch

It is a real pleasure to pull a big, fat perch with spinning! Striped fighters stay together in flocks above flooded shallows, in creeks overgrown with reed, feed in ‘rolls’. An excitable safari lasts for almost all the season. Everyone fishes his own way: with a ‘twister’, a light jig, a lure, a popper, a vertical spoon-bait and with a young fish on a coachman. In half an hour or two you can catch a half of hundred wonderful humpbacks. You have to work good to catch big perches of praiseworthy but middle weight of 0,6-0,9 pounds.

Often the perches of 0,6-0,9 pounds gather in one flock and as a rule the perches of 1-1,7 pounds – in another one staying in the neighborhood. Change places, travel on the ‘rolls’ and you will find big perches for sure.

It is good to experiment with baits. Sometimes a middle perch bites a ‘twister’ and a big one bites a ‘swinger’ or a lure or the contrary. The perches often gather under a boat bottom – may be they look for a shadow or are just curious.

Perch fishing is interesting and exciting even when there is a successful fishing of a cat-fish, an asp and another big fishes. You should spare it at least one day. The fish is very good and fights so much! A two-pound perch will give a four-pound pike odds.
